Yesterday I discovered something that makes my heart all aflutter!
Dedicated fans of SFS know that we love shiny things and fake hair… BUT another true love around here is SPANX! I know, right? I think It was best said in Steel Magnolias:
Truvy: Well, these thighs haven’t gone out of the house without lycra on them sice I was 14.
Clairee: You were brought up right.
So low and behold, yesterday I was checking out the Spanx website only to discover that they are now making BATHING SUITS! (cue the chorus of ANGELS singing) The masters of smoothing it out and sucking it in are making BATHING SUITS! AND AND they are pretty freaking cute! (I happen to love the black and white one shoulder number.)
I was SO SO EXCITED!
Of course there is always a catch…. this time it is the price. They are about $200. I don’t know. That seems extreme. I have been know to pay $100 for a good bathing suit but $200 makes my heart hurt. Then to add insult to injury…you can only buy them online. SO you can’t even try them on before you shell out the cash. Hmmm…

SFS should do a Spanx experiment! Take one for the team – order one and see if they’re worth it for us!

I was very excited when I saw this in magazine and then very distressed by the price. Am also wondering since Spanx basically squueze my fat to other areas-where will it go now? usually I have clothing to hide where the fat has migrated to-will I just have freakishly large on display thighs now?
All I know is that they were talking about the lycra during the wedding and suddenly I am DYING for armadillo red velvet cake!

They do look tempting. BUT, how come there are no Plus Size models modeling the Plus Sizes???? I’d like to have a good idea how squashed down I’m going to look before I wrassle with that stuff.
