See what I did there? With a title like that about Taylor Swift? It’s because I am OH SO FUNNY.
Anyway, we hit on last week’s shows that Taylor Swift swept the Grammy awards but then totally flummoxed during the performance with Stevie Nicks. Critics have been lashing out at her performance, some even going so far to say that perhaps she wasn’t deserving of the wins if that’s all she had to show for it.
Kelly Clarkson has come out into the fray, to carefully walk the line: she agrees that, yeah, the performance was indeed sucktastic, but not every performance is perfect. In her usual diplomatic fashion, she tackles the critics AND Swift’s music label manager, who has been out playing Big Poppa to anyone who dares to speak badly about the Grammy-award winning artist.
Look, I am NOT a Taylor Swift fan, but I can totally see that she has a market devoted to her. And yes, her performance makes my neck hairs stand on end and I want to scoop out my eyeballs with a spork, but I also know I’m not a 15 year old girl and maybe (MAYBE) if I was, I’d think differently.
I will say that I covet her hair.

Yesterday I discovered something that makes my heart all aflutter!
Dedicated fans of SFS know that we love shiny things and fake hair… BUT another true love around here is SPANX! I know, right? I think It was best said in Steel Magnolias:
Truvy: Well, these thighs haven’t gone out of the house without lycra on them sice I was 14.
Clairee: You were brought up right.
So low and behold, yesterday I was checking out the Spanx website only to discover that they are now making BATHING SUITS! (cue the chorus of ANGELS singing) The masters of smoothing it out and sucking it in are making BATHING SUITS! AND AND they are pretty freaking cute! (I happen to love the black and white one shoulder number.)
I was SO SO EXCITED!
Of course there is always a catch…. this time it is the price. They are about $200. I don’t know. That seems extreme. I have been know to pay $100 for a good bathing suit but $200 makes my heart hurt. Then to add insult to injury…you can only buy them online. SO you can’t even try them on before you shell out the cash. Hmmm…
